The Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry (PCMD) is changing...
In January 2012 the two founding members of the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry (PCMD) the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, outlined their plans to expand independently and grow the success of the now nationally recognised professional health education provider.
These changes will come into effect at the start of the 2013 Academic Year.
The two new Schools will be:
- The University of Exeter will create a new Medical School named the University of Exeter Medical School.
- Plymouth University is creating new Medical and Dental Schools named Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry.

PCMD Applicants for 2012 Entry
Applications for 2012 entry have now closed.
Candidates who have applied for 2012 entry to PCMD should receive notification of whether they are to receive an offer by the end of March 2012. There will then be a number of conditions to be met. Further information can be found on the Information for 2012 Applicants area, while the PCMD Admissions team will be in direct contact with you about these non-academic requirements.
Successful applicants for 2012 entry will be taught as PCMD students throughout their degree course (including any intercalated year). They will receive a joint degree from the University of Exeter and Plymouth University.
