Text book in Health Economics published. Professor Anne Spencer co-authors the second edition of the text book Economic Analysis in Health Care, which is intended as a core textbook for advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students of health economics and provides comprehensive coverage of the field of economics in health care and the evaluation of health care technologies. This edition has been fully revised with up-to-date case studies from the UK, Europe and the Rest of the World. It includes a new chapter on health care labour markets and contains new material integrated throughout the text on the economics of public health.

Exeter to Host the Health Economists Study Group (HESG) Meeting in January 2013: We are excited about welcoming the Health Economics community to Exeter as part of this HESG meeting!
Exciting new projects: We are pleased that strong collaborative work has resulted in research funding awards to PCMD with Health Economics Group co-applicants, in the area of childhood obesity (£1.35 million) and heart failure (£2 million).
Health Economics Group hosts academic visitor from School of Health Sciences, University of Tampere, Finland. We were very pleased to have Neill Booth visit from Finland, and hope to continue to develop links with Finnish HTA.
Colin Green was invited to contribute to the “State of the Science Conference on the Advancement of Alzheimer’s Diagnosis, Treatment and Care”, an invitational gathering at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA (June 2012).
